I recently bought a Furminator for my lab. All I can say is WOW! I get enough fur out to stuff a pillow every day, and have a lot less on my floors, which is great!
How long do these last? Can you buy replacement blades?

LOVE the furminator. I have used it on my dog and cat for 2 years now, and it's still furminating strong........! Not sure about replacement blades, sorry!

I've had mine for over a year and I've never needed to replace it. Cheaper ones need replacement blades, but I can't imagine a Furminator needing one. Its done well over 10 dogs every shedding season for the last year, and its doing JUST fine!

ADD> Saturn, LOL! My dogs ate the handle off of mine too! - I seriously saw an ad in one of my knitting magazines! You brush your pet, send in the hair and they blend it with other fibers and spin it into yarn! I could make up a whole bedspread for you!
*gasp!* It's a whole "thing." It's called "chiengora." Chien, the French word for dog and angora. There are lots of people who do this. They consider it a luxury fiber like mohair or angora! I wonder if rat terrier fur makes good diapers . . . - I don't know what a Furminator is Jili....But I did buy one of those PediPaws for my Sons Doxie and I think it will last FOREVER cuz SHE won't Let Us even Get Near her with it!
Personally I think they give those dogs on the Commercials that just sit there all nice and calm some POT Brownies or something! - As expensive as it is, it better last forever.
I've had mine for over a year, and it's still going strong. - Just don't leave it where your dog can eat the handle off like mine did! haha
