Sorry, it's true. I'm not unsympathetic to his plight but let's not use his suicide as a banner for curtailing free speech on the web. Besides, suicide is illegal, right? wow great stuff. you're right I totally forgot about ALL of the jazz fingercat giants like Joe Pass (I believe he was a fingerstylist) and others such as Wes. Major oversite on my behalf. Kottke is great. His early stuff is more fun for me to play because I don't have patience learning 30 pages of tab.

The Guitars:
Traditionally OM's have been used by fingerpickers. Recently independent luthiers such as Beneteau, Charis, Bresnan, Ryan, et al, build exquisite fingerstyle-centric instruments. Martin's remain a favorite among those who love fingerstyle blues; National Resonators are a classic fingerstyle blues and ragtime instrument, Breedlove is used by a number fingerstyle players of note. Taylor continues to have it's loyalists including one of the best fingerstylists alive, Doyle Dykes.
