Srinagar, Nov. 19: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, BJP leader L.K. Advani and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will be the star campaigners from their respective political parties in Jammu and Kashmir. They are arriving in Jammu later this month to address a series of election meetings.
While the Prime Minister and the Congress president will visit both Jammu and the Valley to seek votes for its candidates, the BJP leaders are scheduled to confine their campaigning in Jammu region alone as the party is unlikely to win any seats in the Kashmir Valley. Polling for the state’s third region, Ladakh, was held on November 17 in the first of the seven phased Assembly elections. In Jammu, sources in the BJP and Congress said that both the parties have requested their respective senior national leaders to visit the region to give a fillip to their poll campaign.
Mr Advani, BJP president Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Gujarat chief minister have been requested to campaign in favour of the BJP candidates.
